Removing Spring Bars When Backing Trailer Equipped With Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System
Question:
As long as your backing up angle doesnt exceed a normal turning angle why cant you back up withthis hitch. Ive seen that backing up requires the spring bars to be removed

According to my Fastway representative, backing in s straight line or anything up to a moderate angle is just fine with the Fastway e2 systems.
This being said, unless you are backing almost in a straight line in familiar surroundings, I would personally remove the bars. Anybody who has ever backed a trailer has been in a situation where a moderate turn while backing turns unexpectedly into a near-jackknife. A jackknife or near jackknife can indeed damage the spring bars. I guess its going to depend on how confident you are backing a trailer.
