Where to Run Power Wire for 4-Way and 7-Way on 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL
Question:
ON my 2022 grand cherokee new style the installation of the 4 pole trailer wiring suggests i supply power under the hood where the starter lead is at the fuse block. I want to also install the 7 pin connector with power for brakes and charging 12v rv battery Using 10 gauge wire do I also connect power at the same location? instructions for both written say supply power at the battery not the fuse block. The install video shows installation at the fuse block and not the battery? What is the correct location for the 10 guage power lead to my 7 pin?

Expert Reply:
The power lead from the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C27BR will be run to the fuse box where there is a stud which goes directly to the battery. In regards to an adapter like the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way part # ETBC7L, you'll run the power lead to the same location as above. This location is attached in the video below. The adapter will then have everything you need to install a trailer brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180.
