Parts Needed To Tow A Boat Trailer Behind A Travel Trailer I could use your recommendation. I have
Question:
Hello: I could use your recommendation. I have a Lance pull behind travel trailer, model 1995, manufactured in the year 2020. Weight is 5,000 lb. length 23. I want to pull a boat behind it. Trailer and boat weight approx 1250 lbs. with the trailer and boat being 19 ft. long. Ball size is 2. Can you recommend a hitch set up I can install on the lance? Tow vehicle is Ram 1500. Please let me know if you need any more information Thank you

The first thing you'll want to do before triple towing is to determine your 2020 Ram 1500's towing capacity to ensure that it can actually handle the load.
For the trailer hitch on the Lance travel trailer you'll need to measure the distance between the frame rails to determine which hitch will fit. The Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs # 13703 you were looking at will fit a frame width of 22" to 72".
Once that is installed you'll also need a 4-pole connector like # 18252 that you'll have to splice into the wiring of your trailer's tail lights to transfer the signal to the lights on the boat trailer. You'll want to toss the quick splices included with it and use heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10 for a waterproof connection.
If you want to mount the 4-pole connector to the hitch then you can use part # 18144 and some self tapping screws or a no drill mount # 18140 to secure it.
Before triple towing you'll want to also check your state and local laws to ensure you'll be able to legal tow two trailers.
