How Does Rubber Strip in Thule WingBar Crossbars Accommodate Accessories that Use T-Slot

Question:

Considering the purchase of this collection of products for my 2013 Prius. Only question I have is how do the T slot accessory bolts fit into the channel? From the looks of the photos, there seems to be a rubber or plastic in the channel. Your description states Pivoting endcaps let you easily slide on T-slot-mounted accessories and can see the end cap flip up in your animation but how would you slide the T accessory bolt into the channel with the there?

Take a look at the picture I attached. It shows how the QuickAccess strips in the WingBars, like part # TH711400, is actually made of two pieces with a gap down the middle. You can see the person's finger going between the two pieces.

When mounting a roof accessory into the T-slots the bolt goes between the two pieces leaving everything in place. There's no need to remove the QuickAccess strip and no need to do any cutting. Also, when you remove the accessory the strips will still be intact to keep the integrity of the bar's aerodynamics intact.
