Using B & W Companion # BWRVK3300OEM on 2011 Ford F350 6-3/4 ft Bed With OEM 5th Wheel Prep Pkg

Question:

I have a 2011 F350 with a 6 3/4 ft box and the factory installed under bed rails. The information on your website says this hitch is compatible with the 8 ft box but no mention of the 6 3/4 ft box. Could you confirm if this will work with the short box? Also will this hitch work with an Airborne Sidewinder Pinbox?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Although a sliding hitch is usually called for with a 6-3/4 ft box, a stationary Companion that mounts in the underbed pucks (NOT the hole for the gooseneck ball) like the # BWRVK3300 you mentioned would work with a short bed truck as long as a Sidewinder is used. This is why it is not shown as being a fit on our website.

I have linked you to a product demonstration video featuring the # BWRVK3300. I've also linked you to the Sidewinder FAQ article, that explains in detail how the Sidewinder works. The Sidewinder is pin box-specific, so you'll need to know the manufacturer and model number of the existing pin box. This information is listed on a sticker located somewhere on the pin box. There's a table on the Sidewinder FAQ page that lists which Sidewinder models are compatible with which pin boxes.
