Recommended 4 and 7-Way Trailer Connector for 2009 Pontiac Montana SV6

what connection do i have to go from a 7 way connector from under van to the trailer. and the other connection from the lights.

It sounds like you're maybe trying to setup your 2009 Pontiac Montana SV6 for towing and trying to figure out the wiring. If that's the case then you'd first need to start with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118396, this will provide you with a 4-way connection that has everything you need for the lighting signals. If you instead need a 7-way, you'll have to use an adapter like the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7 which still has all the basic lighting circuits but also has extra circuits for a battery charge line or trailer brake output. If the trailer has brakes, you'll also need the Tekonsha POD Trailer Brake Controller part # 39523 or one like it.
If you don't already have a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75278.
