What Is the Capacity of the Bulldog Winch Universal Mounting Plate for Truck and Trailer Winches
Question:
I am looking for a universal winch mount for a 12K winch on a 10K trailer. I do not wish to weld anything to the trailer frame. This appears to be a bolt-on. Will it safely pull 12,000 lbs if bolted to a trailer head-frame?

The Bulldog Winch Universal Mounting Plate for Truck and Trailer Winches part # BDW20291 can be mounted to a flat-bed trailer using the Bulldog Winch Hardware for Universal Mounting Plate for Truck Winches part # BDW20297. The winch plate will first be set into place where you want to position it, then drilled and bolted to the frame. The plate has counter sunk holes which you'll use with the above hardware to attach the plate to the frame. There isn't a rated capacity as it all comes down to how it's installed and the quality of the surface it's attached to. That said, so long as it is done correctly you should have no issues achieving the capacity you need.
