Does The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 Work With In Cab Brake Controller?

Question:

I am a bit confused about using a tow vehicle that has a built-in brake controller with a trailer that has Autowbrake installed. When watching a video by the company explaining their product, they state the Autowbrake unit senses the on-board controller of the vehicle and disengages goes to sleep and the on-board unit controls the trailers brakes. In one of your responses to this question you state the opposite. The reference is to the blue connection wire. Which is true? Does it depend on some difference in the installation? Thanks

The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 will go into sleep mode if it senses a vehicle mounted trailer brake controller is being used. The question you saw does leave some opening for some confusion. In that example the person disconnected the blue wire which carries power from the vehicle mounted brake controller so that it would not put the Autowbrake into sleep mode. Since they eliminated the blue wire from going to the brakes the Autowbrake would never see any power on this wire.
