Can A MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe Wiggle Free From Road Vibrations
Question:
How much does a maxxair deluxe weigh? How many miles does it take to wiggle loose to the point of a leak due to calling and how many miles does the bouncing of the road take to start damaging the points where it is screwed to the van

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K weighs approximately 18lbs. In my experience if the vent is installed correctly the lid of it will disintegrate from UV rays long before it would ever wiggle free and fall off the RV.
Since you're installing this in a van the you'll want to build a frame, like you can see in the attached video below, and thicken the roof up to a minimum of 1". This will give the vent a nice sturdy base to mount to. You'll need to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ around the bottom of the mounting flange to help seal it to the roof and prevent water from penetrating in through the threads of the screws. Then you would use some self leveling sealant # 34427034145-1 for a waterproof barrier over the mounting flange and screws.
Self-leveling sealant is a nightmare to scrape off so you don't need to worry about the vent ever pulling away on bumpy roads or when fighting against wind resistance. The suspension on your van is also much more sophisticated than the suspension on a trailer so you won't have nearly as much bounce as you would with a trailer.
