Does Base Plate Need to Be Used with D-Ring Adapters for 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Have roadmaster tow bar with braking system. Want to tow my 2017 jeep wrangler jk unlimited with off rd bumper with D rings. Do I need a base plate or just the d ring adapters?

As long as your Roadmaster tow bar has the rounded bars that D-Rings Adapters, like part # RM-035-1 for 1" thick D-Rings, can be installed on then you won't need a base plate kit - just the adapters.

Be sure that your off-road bumper is rated for towing before getting too far into this though. You would think off-road bumpers designed for recovery would be rated for this kind of stuff but we've found half the time the manufacturers say not to use them in this manner.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you.
