Recommended Replacement for 4-Leaf 32" Long Trailer Slipper Springs

Question:

my Long Trailer, c. 1990, has 4-leaf hook and eye springs that are 32inch long. Do have that spring, or even in a 5-leaf? Or will the 30inch #e89SR work?

In order to find the correct replacement leaf springs for a trailer you first need to start by noting the type whether that be slipper or double eye. Then, you'll need to measure their unloaded length via jacking up the trailer. If the springs are worn they will measure longer than their replacement. Lastly, you will need to note the axle capacity which is found on the tag in the center of the beam. Please note, the number of leaves does not really denote capacity as leaves have different thicknesses. Once you have all this info you can choose the correct replacement from the list below. The springs should be replaced in pairs as well. The 4-Leaf Slipper Spring part # e89SR that you mentioned is a 1-3/4" wide slipper spring, measures 30" long, and is designed for a 3,700 lb axle.
