Options to Have an In-Bed 7-Way on a Truck That is Using the ETBC7 for the Rear 7-Way

Question:

I just installed a Modulite 119147kit and a etbc7 7 way connector wiring kit on my 2004 dodge ram 2500. I had to install them to bypass my factory wiring harness as my right trailer lights/brakes/turn signal would not work. So far after installation, it appears everything is working fine. I do haul my 32 ft fifth wheel and am looking for a 7 way connector to place in the bed of my truck that would tie into the above two parts that I just installed. Do you all recommend a specific harness for that? Thank you.

I do have a couple options for you, but the 7-way connector included in the # ETBC7 does not allow the wiring harness to be unplugged from the rear like the factory 7-way would.

The easiest option would be to use the 7-Way Connector 7' Loop # 20027. This would plug into the 7-way at the rear and has a 7' lead that will allow you to run it up to your truck bed. The main draw back here is that you would not have access to both the in-bed 7-way and the rear 7-way at the same time. But that is not typically an issue when towing a 5th wheel.

If you need to have access to the 7-way at the rear of your truck while towing your 5th wheel utilizing the the in-bed 7-way, then you would need to use a splice in option like the 7-Way Pre-Wired Car Connector # 20023.
