Recommended Step For Getting Into The Bed Of A 2020 Toyota Tundra While The Tailgate Is Down
Question:
Recommendation for hitch mounted cargo carrier, 60x24, that can most readily support a 200 lb person. I use my current super duty carrier 48inch wide to access back of truck, get up/down tailgate, etc. I need a wider carrier. For example, I see the Curt has 2 braces on each side, vs Reese with 1 brace on each side. Recommendations please.

If you're looking for a 60x24 cargo carrier with more support then the Curt # C18152 has the Reese # 63153 beat with the second support beam on each side of the carrier. This carrier has a 500lb capacity but it sounds like you're trying to use this as a step while the tailgate is down? Hitch mounted cargo carriers have the bulk of their support down the middle of the carrier where the hitch tube sits so you would most likely have quite a bit of sag no matter which brand you go with if you plan on stepping on either side of the carrier to help get into the bed.
The safest bet is to use a truck bed step like the Bestop TrekStep Truck Bumper Step # BE42CV. This fold down step has a 300lb capacity and is a much safer option for getting in and out of your truck bed.
