Wheel Bearing Grease Used On Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K
Question:
Is this L11315 the grease used to prepack the bearings in the trailer hub/drum assembly AKHD-545-35-K the description says it uses a lithium complex multi-purpose grease?? If so, one of your answers to a customer question about snowmobile trailer bearing grease recommended using L11465 Lubrimatic disc/drum.... grease rather than the multi-purpose which may get too thin under use. Please explain which grease is in the AKHD-545-35-K, the suitability and difference and why you would pregrease with an unsuitable product? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K does include a lithium complex grease like the LubriMatic Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # L11315. This product specific grease is highly versatile and work well in the wheel bearings as well as other points on your trailer. While the LubriPlate Poly HP-2 Wheel Bearing Grease # L11465 is more heat resistant at 500 degrees Fahrenheit versus 350 degrees on the Lithium, your trailer hubs are unlikely to exceed that temperature.
