For your 2017 Chevy Equinox, you'll need a 2" trailer hitch to transport an electric wheelchair, and for that you'll need the following:
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98865
To tow a trailer you'll also need a 4-way wiring harness, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118494.
Then for a trailer you could use some type of small utility trailer, but it would be easier to use a cargo carrier. This is a pretty common way to carry an electric wheelchair, and it wouldn't require you to use the 4-way harness. The right carrier would depend on the size of the wheelchair, but check out the Flint Hill Goods 30" x 50" Wheelchair Carrier w/ 48" Ramp # FHG77ZR.
This has inside dimensions measuring 48" long x 28" wide x 5" deep so your wheelchair would have to be within those dimensions to fit.
