if i buy your braking system for an RV-flat towing set up can a drag a heavier vehicle than the hitch rating?

No, the point of the braking system is only to allow you safely come to a stop and help prevent strain on the motorhome's suspension, brakes, and tires. Going over the capacity of the trailer hitch can cause it to fail and could potentially become disconnected from the vehicle and then you'd have a loose vehicle on the road causing all kinds of damage.

The only way you could potentially increase the towing capacity would be to upgrade the hitch to a higher class, but you'd still be limited to the capacity of the vehicle.

The Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR is a great portable option if you don't want to hassle of a lengthy install or if you plan on towing multiple vehicles. You will need to install a 12v outlet like # RM-9332 in any vehicle's you plan on towing to power the the # BLU37TR.
