Could B and W Companion Fixed Hitch for Ram Prep Pkg Tow Trailer with 2,614 lb Pin Weight
Question:
I have a 2017 ram crew cab 2500 short bed truck with diesel engine. It has a payload of 2,380 lbs. I am getting a toy hauler and hitch pin weight is 2,614 lbs. Dry weight is 11,190 lbs. Can I put this in the bed of my truck and if so what hitch do you recommend. Im not sure how to calculate pin weight vs payload. Thank you

Payload and pin weight capacity aren't exactly the same thing so as long as the trailer you plan to tow weighs less than the 2017 Ram 2500's towing capacity you'd be fine. The B and W Companion OEM hitch part # BWRVK3600 does fit the Ram OEM prep package of your truck and would also have the needed capacity. This hitch has a pin weight capacity of 6,250 lbs. To further verify I would recommend checking with a Ram dealer.
