We can get your 2017 Dodge Durango without the factory tow package set up to tow your travel trailer, and I'll go ahead and list out all the parts you'll need to do so.
- Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75713
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118617
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
- Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller # C49UR
- Curt Wiring Adapter # C51515
I like the Draw-Tite because unlike other options it is rated for use with weight distribution if you want to use that, and while it has a 6,000 lb tow rating like the other hitches for your Durango, its 900 lb tongue weight rating is the highest, which speaks to its overall strength and durability.
Then for the wiring, you will first install the 4-flat, which will activate your trailer's lighting functions, and you'll then plug that into the 7-way that comes with the # ETBC7, which gives you the rest of the wiring needed for the brake controller.
