Determining Function Of Wires On A 2005 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
I am about to buy a trailer and I want to make sure my 7 pin plug is wired correctly, but they dont match any wiring diagram that I can find. I have confirmed that green, yellow, brown are correct, but the ground on my 4 pin is black, not white. I also have two thicker black wires that i assume are a ground. That leaves a darker green, green stripe on white, and a blue stripe on red. I am trying to determine which one is the reverse lights. 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.

To find the correct functions you will have to use a Circuit Tester # PTW2993 which will allow you to test all of the trailer wiring that you mentioned in your question. This tester will help will identify which wire goes where when the taillight functions are applied.
