What Prevents 2017 GMC Acadia with 2.5 liter from being Flat Towed

Why cant a 2017 acadia 2.5 liter engine be flat towed?

The issue is that the 2.5 liter versions of the 2017 GMC Acadia have the active shutter system which interferes with ability to install base plate kits. This is why for these vehicles only solution is dolly towing like with the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Tilt Bed Frame # DM9713093 or Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Foldable # DM9713045.
One advantage to dolly towing is that you can easily use the setup on other vehicles in the future and typically the cost ends up being about the same.
