Recommended Trailer Hitch for Class B Motorhome with Stretched Frame

Question:

I have checked out the specs on the Curt adjustable hitch but unfortunately that will not work due to the spare tire interference location and the exhaust pipe interference because it runs straight out the rear along the frame rail. I need a hitch that bows out to the rear to clear the spare tire. The Drawtite 37133 looks like it may work if the center to center hole width could be adjuster to 38 1/4”. Is that possible?

I do have an option for you but as the frame has been modified, your only option would be a universal trailer hitch like the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # C13702 which can be bolted or welded to the frame. It offers a class III capacity up to 5,000 lbs. The side brackets are adjustable so you can pick the exact width and then you'll need to drill a few holes into the frame to secure it.

I may have another possible option for you in the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide part # 13703 but you are likely going to need to modify the exhaust hanger or drop it down for installation at the very least. Unfortunately there just isn't a completely bolt-on option so some discretion and or retrofitting is going to be needed to ensure a fit. The width of this hitch is adjustable so you'll be able to adjust that for your frame and the brackets can be reconfigured which will increase your chance of bolting it up without any major modifications.
