5th Wheel Clearance Issue in 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 Limited Edition Rambox

Question:

We have just bought a 2013 dodge 2500 limited edition. This is the dodge which has the tool boxes on the truck. Our 5th wheel will not clear in height or width for the bed of the truck. These tool boxes take about 10 inches off each side of the truck. Will this gooseneck hitch be high enough to clear the bed of the truck and have the turning area to clear the sides of the truck. We have a 2013 voltage 2400 5th wheel camper.

The Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter that you referenced, part # RP85FR, is a replacement only for Lippert 0719, 1621, 1621HD pin boxes.

The real issue with towing a 5th wheel with the Rambox is not so much the vertical clearance but the limited side-to-side clearance. Since the goose box still pivots off a fixed point in the truck bed it will have essentially the same issue as your current pin box.

The design of your 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 Limited Edition Rambox makes it a challenge for 5th wheel towing. Our contacts at Reese advise that presently they have no solution to allow safe 5th wheel towing with this vehicle due to the limited clearance resulting from the tool boxes.
