Where Should End of Slipper Spring Sit On Hanger on Single Axle Trailer

For my single axle slipper spring, where is the mount for the slipper end installed. Should it be close to the end of the spring in the unloaded position?

Yes, the end of a slipper spring like the # e49SR will be very close to the hanger bolt in the unloaded position. There is no exact distance or placement, but it needs to allow for full suspension travel once installed. If the hanger is near the end of the slipper spring the flat end will move through the hanger once it is loaded and the spring compresses.
