Both Blinkers on With Wiring Harness 118811

Question:

Ive had this part connected to my car for about 3 years and within the last 3 months, every time i connect something to the harness, when I turn on a blinker, both start blinking. Ive checked all the connections and everything seems fine. Could there be an issue with the connector itself?

It isn't the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118811 being bad (if that's what you were referencing by "the connector itself"); if that was the case nothing at all would be working as it's the module that would be going bad.

When both blinkers go on at the same time, the issue is a bad ground. So on both your tow vehicle and trailer, make sure your grounds are attached to bare metal surfaces and free of any paint, dirt or corrosion. I'm guessing it's the lights that have the bad ground, so check those first, and ideally each would have its own ground.
