Is the gy66fr longer than the original Lippert? Can you make closer turns with it? Will it clear bed rails?

The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box part # GY66FR is a great option for converting the fifth wheel connection into a gooseneck connection on the trailer for easier coupling. It also has built-in cushioning for a smoother ride. That said, it won't increase or reduce your cab clearance and bed rail height. It's designed to be about the same size as the pin box it replaces. In other words, it won't allow you to make full turns using a short bed truck if you were not able to do so previously. If you have a short bed you may want to consider an offset hitch ball for more turning clearance. If you can let me know what hitch you have I'd be glad to see if we have any options for this.
