Question:
On the slipper spring rear hanger does it matter which side gets welded to the frame? closed or open side against the frame?

Expert Reply:
When welding a metal part to another piece of metal, it is always best to have as much metal touching between the two parts. With this in mind, the majority of customers will weld the top of the hanger to the frame of the trailer, leaving the side with the open portion facing the ground. This will be the same for the rear slipper spring hanger, part # 115706S.
