Wiring Required For Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller On Vehicle With 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector
Question:
Do I have to hookup the ground or the reverse lights? Can I only hook up the power to the battery for the Bluetooth to work when I adapt the 4 pin to the 7 pin

Expert Reply:
The Installation Kit # ETBC7L will require you to connect the additional ground wire along with the charge line and 4-way flat connector. You will not have to connect the brake line or reverse lights with the Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 and using the Curt Echo # C51180 brake controller. The dolly does not have any reverse lights and the Echo uses the brake lights in the 4-way to know when to send power from the charge line to activate the electric trailer brakes.
