Parts Needed To Operate Electric Trailer Brakes With a Class C Motorhome Having 4-Way Flat Connector
Question:
I am gonna use my C Class motorhome to use a tow dolly behind to pull my car. The back of the motorhome is only wired for the 4 prong outlet. How do I make this work? How do brakes on a tow dolly work without a brake fluid reservoir.

It sounds like you have a tow dolly with electric brakes like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1. To use this with your class C motorhome having only a 4-way flat connector you will need the Wiring Kit # ETBC7L and a Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180. The wiring kit will connect to your 4-way flat connector and provides you with the wiring for the charge line of the 7-way. The charge line will power the Curt Echo # C51180 which you can control from your smartphone using the Curt Echo App. This is the simplest way to be able to safely tow your tow dolly. Do note the wiring kit only includes 20' of 12 gauge wire so you may need some additional wire to reach the battery on your motorhome.
If you prefer an in cab controller like the Redarc Liberty # RED52VR you will need the Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes the additional wiring for an in cab controller and will give you a 7-way similar to the above kit. You get 25' of duplex 10 gauge Wire # 10-2-1 with this kit. You can get additional wire to reach the length needed.
