Solution for Lost Yakima Roof Cargo Box Key
Question:
I need a replacement key for my car top carrier. THe key has gone missing since our last move. How can I get one? Thanks in advance for your help. This carrier fits on a 2010 Subaru Tribeca. Regards,

If you cannot remember what the number on your key was then you will need to contact a locksmith to come and drill out the lock for for you since there is no way to determine what they key number you need is unless you wrote it down before you lost it. My contact at Yakima said that the locksmith will need the control key to get the lock core out and you will need one to install the new lock core. After removing the lock you can install a replacement lock core kit like part # Y07202 to replace your lock. This comes with the control key needed to remove your previous lock core.
Please note that the Yakima lock cores can only be removed with the control key if they are unlocked.
