Replacement for Thule Spare Me 2- Bike Rack Locking Knob

Question:

A mail truck hit the back of my 2005 CR-V and mounting knob with lock exploded into small pieces, so I am confused and unsure how it looked originally. I have left a bolt sticking out, which when removed with pliers is 3 inches long with an attached cup and flange, the top of which has a 8-pointed star with bolt head within. But, your Replacement Locking Knob for Thule Bike Racks - Qty 1Item # TH79JV does not have any bolt and looks like a so- called female part where I need the male equivalent, so to speak. Is it capable of disassembly to pace an appropriate bolt? It looks like the Locking Knob with Bolt for SportRack Single-Arm, Hitch-Mounted Bike Carriers Item # SR0018inch fits the bill but: 1 it is not labeled for my Thule model and 2 the bolt may be too short ? as my bolt as measured inside flange is 3 3/4 inch cap to tip. The exposed threads on mine appear to have extended 3 1/8inch beyond the knob and I do not know how far into bracket they need to go. 1 Please advise as to what to buy. 2 My remaining lock code is labeled N192 by keyhole. Is that original or does this knob accept standard- sized core replacements I might have purchased one?. THX

Expert Reply:

Due to the age of your Thule Spare Me rack the correct replacement locking knob would be the part # TH93NW. To remove your old lock core from your knob to install in it the new knob would require the change key part # 853-1251.
