When Do You Measure The Trailer Tongue Weight For Setting Up Weight Distribution On Imagine 3100RD?
Question:
Hello! When should we measure the tongue weight of our travel trailer Imagine 3100rd Before we are hitched up to the WDH or after or at both times? Should we be at 10 to 15 before we are hitched up? Thank you!

When measuring the tongue weight with the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 you want to measure the tongue weight before you connect the weight distribution hitch. This will allow you to ensure you are not overloading your weight distribution hitch and risking damage to your vehicle or hitch. When connecting to your 2022 Grand Design Imagine 3100RD it is best to use the Equal-i-zer OnTarget Laser Measuring Tool # EQ37FR. This will ensure the weight is properly distributed across your tow vehicle. I have linked an video for this tool below to understand how it works.
If you are looking for a weight distribution hitch for your Grand Design I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37120ET as it is rated for a tongue weight between 800 and 1,200lbs. Your Imagine 3100RD has a dry tongue weight of 791lbs and will quickly go up once the dealer installs the battery and fills the propane tanks. You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the included 2-5/16" hitch ball on the hitch head.
