Can the Side Carriage Bolts on the 19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches Be Reversed
Question:
The carrier pictures show 8 bolts pointing inwards where the cargo will be. One review said they put the 8 bolts through the connecting plates in reverse, so the length of the bolt faced OUT and wouldnt scratch up what you carry. Is that possible? Otherwise it seems like you lose some space if bolts are in your way

Yes, it's possible to reverse the orientation of the horizontal carriage bolts on the 19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches part # C18110 for more space inside the carrier. I have attached a photo below which as you can see, there are square holes cut into the support plate and side rails which will allow you to reverse the orientation of the carriage bolts. I have also attached a photo from a customer who did exactly that. That said, you would only really be gaining a small amount of space so it's only necessary with extremely tight loads. The choice is up to you but either way is acceptable.
