For air brakes the best option is going to be the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink # DM26VR. This is a fixed system that won't require you to perform any setup after the initial installation. It's a proportional system that will apply the brakes in your Focus with the same exact intensity that you press on the motorhome brake pedal.
The installation is quite a bit of work so if you aren't that handy you can also go with an easy option like the Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494 that you were looking at. This option has a small amount of wiring to run for the initial installation and requires setup every time you plan on towing your vehicle.
If the brake lights do not work with Focus's ignition key turned to the "tow" position, you will also need a brake light switch kit # RM-751454 to provide a signal to the supplemental braking system.
If you've been manually disconnecting the battery every time and would like an easier option the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766 will allow you to disconnect and reconnect the battery with the push of a button.
