Switching Trailer from Torsion Axles to 3,500 lb Leaf Spring Axles
Question:
I am replacing torsion axles with spring axles and the spring perches are set on approximately a 3 degree angle, which will have the spindle centerline either rearward or forward of the tube centerline. When installing which direction should they be?

In order to replace torsion axles with leaf spring axles you'll first need to start with a hanger kit, if it's a tandem axle trailer then I recommend the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double Eye Springs part # APT5. This can then be paired with a set of leaf springs like the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles part # e54SR. The only thing that's left is the axle like the Dexter Trailer Axle part # 35545E-ST-89. The axle has a left and a right side so you'll need to make sure you have this the correct way before installing. The axle also has a top and a bottom as well because of the bow, the leaf spring perches are welded to the bottom therefore the axle is setup as an under sprung. If you need the axle setup as an over sprung then you will need to cut and re-weld the leaf spring perches on top of the axle.
I have attached our full axle selection below as well if this one is not the correct length for your needs.
I'm not quite sure I understand what you are talking about with the axle center-line but if you can explain this better I'd be glad to try and assist.
