Is Ram M25 5th Wheel Hitch the Same as Curt Q25 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

The ram m25 hitch 82214743AB is not a slider and has the same base as the curt a25. I am wondering if the ram hitch listed above is compatible for a 16k sidewinder pin box. And what wedge adapter would be needed

Close, the Ram M25 is the same as the Curt Q25 hitch. If that's the style you're wanting then we have the Q25 in 2 different configurations depending on the bed length of your 2018 Ram 3500:

6-1/2' Bed
Curt Q25 Slider - # C16566
Adapter Rails - # C29BR

8' Bed
Curt Q25 Fixed - # C16049

We recommend using the slider over the fixed for the short beds so that you know you have enough clearance between your truck cab and your trailer during tight turning situations.

If that's the specific Ram M25 you're looking at then yes, it would be the equivalent of the Curt Q25 # C16049 that I mentioned above. The Q25 is a great option for a 5th wheel hitch but it's not compatible with a Sidewinder pin box so you'll need to use the A25 # C16046 instead. For this to be compatible with a Sidewinder you'll need the Sidewinder Wedge # C16992. If you have a pervious series Sidewinder then this wedge will work but if you're getting a brand new Sidewinder then we'll want to look into a different hitch for you. The new Sidewinders have a different profile for the wedge and for whatever reason there currently isn't one that works for the Curt hitches. For an alternative option I recommend using the Reese M5 which is available with a 20K # RP30918 or a 27K # RP37FR weight capacity. You'll need the Wedge Kit # RP44FR for this application and the newer Sidewinders. I've attached some more videos for you to check out as well.
