Can the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator Be Used With a Sportsman Generator

Wondering if i can use a changeover dual regulator on my portable sportsman generator to avoid changing tanks in the middle of the night..if so which model and do you carry it ...also is it possible to use different size tanks ...40/20 lp tanks

While in theory, you would be able to use the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59005 to switch from one propane tank to another while using your generator. The issue actually comes from the generator and more specifically the hose for the generator.
Most generators require that you use the included hose to supply the propane. This hose typically has a built in regulator and would prevent you from using the # CAM59005 because if you double regulate the propane, you will not have enough propane pressure remaining. My recommendation would be to consult the user manual for your generator about the use of alternate hoses and regulators.
As far as using a 40 lb. tank opposed to a 20 lb. tank, there should not be an issue with that as long as it uses the same connector.
