In order to choose the correct weight distribution system for your needs, you will need to determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of each trailer. To this figure, you will need to add the weight of anything stowed in the van behind the rear axle. These two weights added together represent the amount of weight applied to the rear van axle that the weight distribution system will need to overcome, and is referred to as the Total Tongue Weight. I have linked you to an FAQ article that shows how to determine your Total Tongue Weight (TTW).

Most weight distribution systems are effective over a given range of tongue weights, and ideally you would want your TTW to fall as close as possible to the dead center of the effective range of the system. The Reese # RP66540 system you mentioned is good for tongue weights ranging from about 200 up to a maximum of 600 lbs. According to my research your van has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, so you would not want to use that vehicle to tow anything that would need a higher rated system. The system includes the weight distributing shank, but the appropriately-sized trailer ball is sold separately. Most likely, your trailer would use a 2 inch ball, in which case you would need part # A-90.

If the tongue weights of both trailers you mentioned were within the capacity of your vehicle and the 49585 system, you could use the same system for both trailers. If you decided to go that route, you would most likely want to go with an extra set of snap up brackets # RP6637 to mount on the other trailer frame.

If you would care to reply with the total tongue weight of both the trailers, I would be happy to make some more specific recommendations. To see an FAQ article with additional weight distribution information, click the provided link.
