Installation Instructions for the Reese Low Profile Fifth Wheel Hitch on a 5500 Truck
Question:
Hello I see the # RP30054 y fifth wheel that you suggested with custom install. But no mention on the gauge or type of metal that is used to hold it. I have a c5500.

The Reese Low-Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # RP30054 is a custom installation that requires a qualified professional welder to install a 1/2" thick steel plate. The plate needs to be both welded and bolted on. The hitch will need to be centered above the rear axle and left to right.
