Can Hitch Pin that's Longer Than Needed Affect Anything
Question:
Can a hitch pin span be too great? WAG Example: - Given a hitch receiver of 3inch outside width is using a pin with a span capacity of 4.25inch unsafe? Is it safe to use a pin that is longer than within reason necessary?

Having a hitch pin lock like the etrailer hitch lock part # e98881 be a little on the long side won't be an issue. Having extra length won't hurt anything.
