Will The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit A 2017 Subaru Crosstrek Without A Knock Panel
Question:
Looking at hitch Item# 306-X7203. It says Hitch will only fit models with center knock-out panel in the lower rear fascia. Mine doesnt actually have the knockout, but can I cut out a hole where it would be and still install it? Its formed to look like there could be a hole. I wasnt sure if there was something different behind the bumper cover. thanks

The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7203 is only designed for XV model Subaru Crosstreks (2013-2017). I spoke with TorkLift and their tech stated that it should have a knockout panel unless it's an aftermarket bumper or if you had a 2018, which is when they changed the body style.
You could try taking off your bumper and seeing if there is something in the way that would block the hitch from installing prior to ordering it and follow through with your plan to just cut a hole in the fascia or you could install a different hitch like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98838.
The # e98838 will sit below your bumper so it will not be hidden like the # 306-X7203 is but it also won't have any fitment restrictions.
I've attached installation videos below for both hitches to help you in this process.
