How To Find The Correct Sized Replacement Fireplace For A 2010 Forest River Sierra 345RET

Question:

i have a 2010 forest river 345 ret. the fireplace shuts off signals 88 after it has been on a little while.the outside without the bessel measures 25 3/8 x 19 7/8. It has a convex glass front but I will settle for a flat face unit because of cost. What size should i buy for replacement and where is the cheapest place to buy one? Also, can i install it myself? Im pretty handy.

Most likely your current fireplace has a bad control board, which in most cases means the unit has to be replaced. You could possibly be going into overheat mode so I do recommend unmounting your fireplace from the wall and blowing out the rear vents with a can of compressed air and then retrying the unit first.

As for replacement, the best option is to pull the old unit out and measure the cutout hole to find the correct fit. The Furrion RV Electric Fireplace with Logs # F30SW15ABL you were looking at can be mounted with a small portion of the body still out in a 26-1/4" wide x 16-1/4" tall x 5" deep cutout hole or flush with a 28-5/16" wide x 17-13/16" tall x 7-3/16" deep cutout hole.

Typically RV fireplaces have a glass front that's either held in place with screws or clips that can be removed and then the body of the unit is usally screwed into place in the cutout hole. You should be able to easily remove and replace your fireplace by yourself.
