Block Heater KH11615 1. Is It sold as shown? solid copper base 2. How much room is needed for clearance. How deep is it? Thanks

Yes, the Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater # KH11615 is sold as shown in the picture. It has a corrosion resistant brass construction. There needs to be clearance both inside the engine block as well as outside. The heating element cannot be in contact with anything inside the engine other than engine coolant or it will burn out. I have attached an image below with the important measurements.
The distance from the edge that seats against the engine block to the far edge of the heating element (between the red lines) is 1.250". The distance from the back edge of the heating element to the far tip of the element (between the blue lines) is 1.625". According to Kat's, you need approximately 2" to clear the red silicone plug outside the engine block.
