Should You Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2016 Subaru Outback with CVT
Question:
Because this a s car has a cvt and is largely operated by this vehicles ECU... wondering if installing a trans cooler would interfere with the ecu or the cvt? I d hope to tow lighter loads with this car but less than 1200 lbs and over the years I have always leaned towards having one installed on a new to me used car. which bar fits for a 16 outback 3.6 r and fits in behind the bumper?

In regards to a 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon, we don't typically recommend installing an aftermarket transmission cooler on models with a CVT. Furthermore, they don't all have external lines to tap into which is also a problem. I instead recommend forgoing the transmission cooler and simply purchasing the other necessary components needed to tow which I have listed for you below. If you stay under the listed weight capacity for your vehicle then there should not be any issues with the transmission overheating.
