Troubleshooting a 5th Wheel Hitch Not Releasing

5th wheel hitch will not release. Cant pull the handle out.

When troubleshooting a 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3670 not releasing, there can be a few potential issues. One being that you are needing to properly grease the 5th wheel hitch. If the hitch is hooked up, another issue could be that there is too much tension on the king pin from the truck and trailer not being level. Depending on the age of the hitch, it could be also be that the mechanism is worn out.
I have included a couple pictures that include information on proper lubrication and maintenance of the 5th wheel hitch.
