Will Advent Air Conditioner Fit with 14" x 14" Opening
Question:
Although the hole standard seems to be 14 X 14 for most air conditioners, I see the Advent is 14.250 X 14.250. I cannot change the size of my hole 14 X 14, but could make an adapter it the bolts will come through the 14 X 14 hole. Do you know if this can happen Installing in a cargo trailer. Thank you.

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Start Capacitor # ACM135C does call for the 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening but the instructions do say +/- 1/8" as well so if you have that slightly larger opening you'll be okay. If you don't have that extra 1/8" you might try slightly chipping or cutting away any excess if the unit truly won't fit in the 14" x 14" hole.
I looked at some of our other AC units and they all call for an opening slightly over 14" x 14" so if you truly cannot change the size then you'll need to go with a roof vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K that fits with the smaller opening size.
