Can 25-1/4 Leaf Spring and Dexter Axle HD Suspension Kit Fit a 31 Axle Spacing

Question:

What is the correct axle and hanger spacing for your 5 leaf spring 111275 and hanger kit K71-359-00? The new spring and axle set up will be replacing a worn out mobile home parts set up on a dual axle 30 year old shop made dump trailer... current axle spacing is 31 the hanger kit references 33... which is fine if that matches the new springs, I prefer to use your HD hanger kit due to lubrication and the hangers are about an inch taller which is needed as well. I use lowboy tires which are slightly taller than the old mobile home tires from back in the day. Thank You!

The Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # K71-359-00 is ideal for 33" axle spacing but since the shackle straps are able to rotate they can be used for varying axle spacings that are near that 33" mark. The best thing to do is to match the width of the equalizer (which is 5-3/4") and the shackle strap length (2-1/4" long) so you know everything will match up correctly. If need be you can use the 2" strap # TRSL200 to try to get things to match up better.

Since everything is a little adjustable you should be just fine using the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # K71-359-00 with the 25-1/4" Long 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e34SR.
