If you're trying to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 that you were looking at you'll need a couple other things installed first.

The first one being trailer wiring, if you don't have a 7-way on the rear of your Sorento then I recommend the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # TK24FR. This kit is going to have everything you need for a 7-way.

This wiring kit will have connectors to plug into your factory tow wiring harness and little connectors to plug into the 7-way connector. There will will be a bit of splicing with the bare wire harness, which will need to be wired in the following manner:

Blue: Goes to the blue wire on the # 90195 wire harness.
Black: Goes to the positive post on the battery with an inline 30amp fuse.
Red: Brake light switch wire. This is the wire that gets power when the brake pedal is depressed.
White: You'll ground this to the frame with a self-tapping screw.

The wiring harness for the # 90195 will wire in the same manner. I've attached a wiring diagram below as well as a tech tip insert from the wiring harness manual to help you find the tow wiring harness for the connectors to plug into. I've also attached an installation video for the # TK24FR as well as an installation video I did on the # 90195 to help you with this process.

Once your 7-way and brake controller is installed you'll be able to safely tow your trailer with both your lights and brakes properly functioning.
