We can definitely get your 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon set up to be flat towed with base plates and a tow bar from Roadmaster, as well as the rest of the parts you'll need. I'll go ahead and list out the best parts for you below:
- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kitm\ # RM-521453-5
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152
OR
- If Gladiator Has Optional ParkSense Proximity Sensors: Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes # RM47ZR
- Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751497
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
- Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit # DM66VR
Roadmaster was a really nice choice to flat tow your Gladiator as they make extremely reliable, high-quality parts. As for the base plates, the Direct-Connect are nice due to their removable tabs so your Gladiator maintains its look. The Nighthawk tow bar is easily the best tow bar on the market, with an aluminum body which makes it lighter and easier to handle than other tow bars, and a long 52" reach which allows your Jeep to track behind your motorhome better than bars with shorter arms.
The Nighthawk even includes safety cables and an electrical cord so you don't have to buy those separately. The diode wiring kit will prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Jeep's electrical system safe, and you'll connect it to the cord that comes with the Nighthawk. Just make sure you get the right kit, depending on if you have the optional ParkSense feature on your Jeep.
As for the braking system, the Stay-IN-Play DUO is easily the best because it gives you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. So when you hit the brakes on your motorhome, your Gladiator is going to get the same amount of braking power, resulting in much smoother braking than other systems. The stoplight switch will ensure the monitoring system is always active, and the battery charge line will keep your Jeep's battery charged at all times even on long journeys.
The only other thing I recommend considering, in order to keep your Gladiator safe from damage when it is being flat towed, is a protective device, the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4750.
