Where Is The Hughs Auto Former # HU24FR Installed At

Question:

Hi, I am considering the Hughs auto former HU24FR with the hard wire kit Hu54FR. My question is, is there no way that I can see the lights on the unit, so I can know whats going on? If its behind the wall, How does it work? Is there a recommended way to install it. The progressive hardwire unit has a pendant that shows the info from the hardwired unit. I prefer the Hughes, because it can actually step up voltage. Thanks

The Hughes Autoformers Voltage Booster with Surge Protection # HU24FR does not have Bluetooth like the Power Watchdog units do. At the same time, they are considered to be 'automatic'. They always boost voltage by 2% and IF the voltage drops to 113V or so, then that is when the unit kicks on the boost and it should boost the voltage 10%, and the boost light(S) be illuminated. They cannot shut off power, so it is either you have power from the pedestal/source or you don't. The autoformer will not change/affect this. Lastly, they do have surge/spike protection, but that is also done 'automatically'. I would just say if it is buried behind a panel, to try and check it every so often (once every 3-6 months?). The surge modules do not get used up often.

Or, you can put a Power Watchdog unit after the autoformer, so you know the voltage that you are getting after the autoformer. Plus you have the PWD unit to provide Bluetooth, further surge protection, and if you have the EPO unit, it can shut off power if it needs to.

The units can be installed internally, or out by the pedestal (for both autoformers and Power Watchdogs). Let me know if you need more explanation or help

I attached a review video link below.
