Can A Rooftop Tent Be Used On Top Crossbars On A 2019 Hyundai Veloster W/ A Panoramic Sunroof
Question:
Hi! My name is Logan. I’m trying to find a way to mount a rooftop tent on my 2019 Hyundai Veloster with a panoramic sunroof and no rails. The only solution for the racks seems to be the Sea Sucker suction cup roof racks, which can attach to the glass on the sunroof. The issue I’m concerned of is if the sunroof can handle the weight. According to a forum I found online, the Sea Sucker racks can carry the weight of a rooftop tent on a panoramic sunroof, but it will be concerning when one or two people sleep up there and all that extra weight is put on the glass of the sunroof. Any thought/opinions or alternate solutions? Appreciate any help I can get.

The SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack # 298-SX6000B will actually sit on the frame of your Veloster rather than directly on the sunroof, however I did check the owner's manual and it appears that the maximum weight capacity is 150-lbs so using a rooftop tent is not going to be an option, unfortunately.
Your best and safest option is to use a standard tent that goes into the ground to avoid damaging your panoramic sunroof.
